A Special Called City Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. to hold the first of two hearings related to the Amended Budget for Fiscal Year 2009-10 and the Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2010-2011, and the second hearing will be held on September 8, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. (Click here for August 31, 2010 agenda).

On February 10, 2010, The City Council passed Amendment 171 to the West Lake Hills Code (Tree Regulations). See link to Amendment 171.
On January 13, 2010, the City Council passed the following: 1) an ordinance requiring the filing of a site plan and obtaining approval from the City Council before commencing construction within the extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) of the City; (Site Plans in ETJ) and 2) an ordinance to establish a temporary (90 day) moratorium on the acceptance, review, and approval of subdivision plats, site plans, sign permits and site clearance for tracts in the City’s ETJ. On April 14, 2010, the City Council extended the temporary moratorium an additional 90 days. On June 23, 2010, the City Council extended the temporary moratorium an additional ninety days (from July 14, 2010 to October 14, 2010.)
MASS NOTIFICATION SYSTEM NOW AVAILABLE:
The City of Westlake Hills has implemented a mass notification system that will allow us to send a recorded message to all residents and businesses within a matter of minutes. This will improve the City’s ability to contact residents in case of emergency and to let residents know about important issues and events in the community. For more information, click here.

The city of West Lake Hills was founded and incorporated as a village on September 9, 1953.
The city today is comprised of 2,560 acres (four square miles) with approximately 40 miles of public streets. The population is 3,116 (2000 Census) with approximately 1,000 homes and 200 businesses.
West Lake Hills is unique in many ways. The citizens,along with their elected and appointed officials, are dedicated to preserving the rural environment and maintaining the natural beauty of the area. |
