City elections are held on the first Saturday in May.  Early voting typically starts a few weeks before the actual election date.  As elections dates get closer, more detailed information will be made available on this page. 

In order to vote in city elections, you must be registered with the State of Texas.  Voter registration for West Lake Hills residents is handled by the Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector.

The City's General Election is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2017, and is for the purpose of electing the following positions: Councilmember Place 1, Councilmember Place 3, and Councilmember Place 5.

  • January 18 to February 17 (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Mon. - Fri.) - Filing for Place on the Ballot
  • January 1 to April 25 (Received, not Postmarked) - Application for Ballot by Mail
  • April 6 - Last day to register to vote
  • April 24 to May 2 - Early Voting
  • May 6 -  Election Day
