As we prepare for freezing weather, Travis County Water District 10 has provided tips to help winterize your home and pipes. They encourage customers to sign up on EyeOnWater.com to monitor their service for possible leaks as well as sign up for Water District 10 Robo-Calls for important updates. Links to sign up for both services are on the Water District 10 website at https://www.waterdistrict10.org/.
Special Note from Water District 10: For purposes of responding to leaks, WD10 discourages using the valves in meter boxes as it does require a special tool and is difficult and costly to repair if broken. Ideally, homeowners should preemptively locate their homeowner valves (located 12-18in from the meters in their own smaller valve box) as they, more importantly, do not require a tool.
Winter weather is at the doorstep. The City of West Lake Hills and Austin Energy have been working together to ensure better communication and collaborative response to ensuring the lights stay on throughout the year, especially in periods of inclement weather. Please review the presentation made available by Austin Energy and share with your neighbors.
